About Us
Better in Thyme Farm started up with the intent of dipping our toes into the world of dairy goats and poultry out in Cowiche, WA. Initially we started up with a wide variety of poultry in order to produce our own egg and meat supply. We quickly found out what each of us liked and have since started to work with specific poultry breeds in an effort to start producing birds the meet the SOP for each specific poultry type. We are working on becoming NPIP certified in the coming years in order to safely provide a supply of local chicks to our community.

Then early 2021 Dayna brought up the idea of getting back into goats. When she was younger we had a couple of dairy goats: a Nubian doe named Betsy and an Alpine buck named Captain Kirk. Only this time we knew we needed something smaller, and easier to handle for both of us. So Nigerian Dwarfs it was! We liked the idea of having goats for fresh milk and it's various byproducts. Which then escalated into looking at potentially showing goats (i.e. finding good registered stock) and everything kind of expanded from there. We now have 4 bucks, and 18 does. Five of which are retained kids from this year!

Dayna recently moved to Ellensburg and is working on setting up a second farm location as you read this! She hopes to move half the herd there and spread the workload around a little more evenly.
